Reintro to writing -- Gotham Writer's Workshop

I'm resurrecting this blog.  I began it when I took a creative writing class six years ago.  I'm taking the same class again.  Here's the introduction:

Nothing unusual about my writing life.
I've dreamt of writing something for many years.  Six years ago, I did this very class and loved it. I worked on it all the time, thought about it incessantly, and posted my stuff onto a blog.  That was during a sabbatical...once I started work again, other things pushed writing to the side.  Three weeks ago, I put in my resignation from my job and signed up for this class again.  Is it real?  Can I write?  Will this be lonely? Will this be exhilarating?  Will I be able to write personal stuff about people who are close to me?

Oh, yeah, the suggested questions. I’m from Iowa, live in Albania, I’m a teacher of English and TOEFL. I like to think I’m creative and free-wheeling, but who can say for sure?

Major turning point in my life was last week when I was able to put the job behind me.  My sister said, “Well, it sounds a little naval gazing to quit your job and play the guitar.”
“Yes,” I answered, “that’s been my trouble since a priest told me the same thing 28 years ago.”

I have the appearance of an ultra-normal superstar Hollywood run-of-the-mill Ultimate Frisbee player. I like Ralph Fletcher, Richard Russo, JK Rowling, Henry David T., Richard Baak, James Herriot, Allie Brosh, and Jane Smiley.

Now I have to go find a guitar.
